Paul Bush is the Owner and Founder of Emergency Education & Development LLC. With over 28 years of emergency services experience ranging from Firefighter-EMT to Emergency Management to Chief of Emergency Services for different agencies across the state; Paul is currently employed as a Senior Fire Instructor with the Salem County Emergency Services Training Center; where he specializes in Hazardous Material & Technical Rescue Training. He was previously employed with the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety as a State Fire Marshal assigned to the Code Enforcement Division, as well as Paul has previously served as Chief/Director of Pemberton First Aid & Rescue Squad & Beverly City Emergency Squad as well as serving numerous other volunteer agencies throughout his career in various ranks. Most recently, Paul was full-time with Capital Health Emergency Services in Mercer County, NJ; assigned to both the BLS 9-1-1 Division and Emergency Services Training Center, as an instructor.
Paul’s educational background consists of a double Associates Degree, 1 in Fire Science and 1 in Fire Administration. Paul is currently in the final stages of obtaining his Bachelor’s in Fire & Emergency Management. In addition to his college education, Paul is both a New Jersey and Pennsylvania Emergency Medical Technician-Instructor, National Academy of EMT Instructor, NJ Division of Fire Safety Instructor Level II, National Pro-Board Fire Instructor, NJ DOH-OIETs 9-1-1/EMD instructor, FEMA ICS Instructor and many other national accredited instructorships. Paul possesses the following state licenses; Nj EMT Instructor, PA EMT Instructor, NREMT-EMT A, NJ Firefighter, NJ Fire Official, NJ Fire Instructor, NJ Chief Fire Officer III, NJ Fire Investigator, NJ Incident Management Level III, Hazmat Specialist
Krystle is the co-owner and administrator of EED. She handles the everyday financial and administrative aspects of the business, along with running the website. She has a Master’s in Tax and Financial Planning and a Bachelor’s in Accounting, both from Widener University. She has been an auditor for the State of New Jersey Division of Taxation in Trenton, NJ since 2014. She has an extensive background in the daily operations of 501(3)(c) organizations and offers consulting services when necessary. Prior to becoming an auditor, Krystle was previously a financial planner for military families. At home, besides her number one job as mom, Krystle is the Vice President of the Edgewater Park PTO assisting with fundraising and projects to support the Edgewater Park School District. Krystle is also a lifetime Girl Scout and is involved with the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars (VFW). When not in the administrator role, Krystle is a NJ & PA EMT, an EMT Instructor, an Instructor for TECC/TCCC, PHTLS, PEPP, GEMS EVOC/CEVO, along with numerous other NAEMT programs, and primarily teaches EMT refresher classes.
Dr. Vermani is a Board-Certified Physician in Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine. Dr. Vermani is currently an Emergency Room Physician for Capital Health's satellite ER at Deborah in Pemberton, NJ. She received her education completing her fellowship in Memphis, TN, at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and her residency at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ. Dr. Vermani's role at Emergency Education & Development, LLC includes oversight of all curriculum material that is presented by EED to ensure the most up to date medicine being taught as well as oversight of the staff of EED to ensure an appropriate level of competence of the medical instructors.
Dr. Lavelle is a Board Certified EMS Physician in the Philadelphia, New Jersey and Washington DC area, and serves as medical director for multiple agencies including American Medical Response-DC. Dr. Lavelle's role at Emergency Education & Development, LLC includes oversight of all curriculum material that is presented by EED to ensure the most up to date medicine being taught as well as oversight of the staff of EED to ensure an appropriate level of competence of the medical instructors.
Thomas Mason Jr is the current Chief of the oldest fire company in the United States, the Mount Holly Fire Department (Relief Fire Company), where he began his fire service career as a Jr. Member in 1999. Chief Mason has also served as Assistant Chief of both the Jacksonville Fire Company and America Emergency Medical Services. During his career, he also served with the Eastampton Fire Rescue, spending time at both the Smithville Fire Company and Ewansville Fire Company, which at one time was one of the busiest and most respected Rescue Companies in Burlington County. Chief Mason is a NJ Level II Fire Instructor and possesses certifications such as Firefighter I, NJ EMT, Fire Officer II, Fire Inspector Hazardous Material Specialist, Technical Rescue Technician, and Incident Management Level III, just to name a few. Chief Mason served as the company Training Coordinator for numerous years which started his passion for emergency services education. Chief Mason instructs classes in Incident Command, Leadership, Tactics, Technical Rescue and Hazardous Materials.
John started his fire service career at Good Will Fire Company, station 191 in Pemberton Borough, Burlington County, New Jersey at the tender age of 16 years old. In April of 2001, at 17 years old he attended Firefighter I at Burlington County Training Center. Since that time, John has gone on to gain multiple certifications in New Jersey. At the age of 20 – year 2005 – John would go on to serve our Nation by joining the United States Air Force Reserves as a USAF Firefighter where he attended the Louis F. Garland Fire Academy located at Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, TX. At 21 – year 2006 – John was sent overseas serving and doing what they trained him for protecting this country's freedom. Upon his return in 2007, he would work for Monoc Emergency Medical Services assigned to Pemberton Township EMS, while still serving in the Reserves and traveling all over the world. In 2008, John was hired as a civilian at the Willowgrove NAS as a civilian federal firefighter. In 2009, John would transfer to DLA Fire & Emergency Services located out in New Cumberland, PA where he proudly continues to serve today with the rank of Captain; which he received in 2014 assigned to Engine Company 69. John holds a Bachelor of Science in Fire Administration through Columbia Southern University, along with the following Pro-board National certifications: Inspector III, Instructor III, Officer III, Rope Technician, Trench Technician, Vehicle Technician, Confined Space Technician, HazMat Technician, HazMat Incident Commander, Driver/Operator (D/O) Pumper, D/O Mobile Water Supply, D/O ARFF, D/O Aerial, Firefighter II, and Airport Firefighter. John is also a certified EMT-B in Pennsylvania which he has held for 15 years. John’s background is HazMat response, technical rescue response, and first arriving officer response. John has been involved in the progression of Emergency Education & Development since its inception, and today overseas the Technical Rescue and Fire Operations Divisions.
Vito comes to Emergency Education & Development with over 20 years of experience in public safety. He is currently a Detective with the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office; he is responsible for their Emergency Management/Operations, their Medical program, their Training Division, and is a Member of the Project LifeSaver Search & Rescue team where he is a Ground Electronic Search Specialist. He is a trainer for the team, its responders, and he oversees their Communication Systems. Vito is also a NJ Emergency Medical Technician and a certificated NJ Firefighter serving the residents of Ewing Township, NJ; Vito just recently separated from the West Trenton Fire Company where he served as Assistance Fire Chief and various fire officer positions for many years. During his time as a responder in Ewing Township, he was the EMS Chief for the Pennington Road First Aid Unit, which provided EMS to the Township of Ewing and the surrounding municipalities. In addition to the Sherriff’s Office, Vito works for Capital Health Emergency Services assigned to the 9-1-1 EMS Division and Critical Care Transport Division. Vito is a graduate of Burlington County Police Academy and has extensive training and experience in Fire Science and Criminal Justice. Vito possesses numerous specialty trainings such as a FBI Certified Hostage / Crisis Negotiator, New Jersey Incident Management Level III, Traffic Incident Safety, NAEMT Tactical Emergency Casualty Care, and Tactical Combat Causality Care to name a few. Vito is also a Rescue Technician in Vehicle Extrication, Machine Rescue and Water Rescue. As an Instructor, Vito is a New Jersey Certified Police Training Commission Police Instructor, a BLS CPR Instructor, an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) instructor, a NAEMT Instructor (PTHLS, TECC, TCCC, EMS Safety, GEMS, PTEP, PEPP) Stop the Bleed and more. Vito can be found leading our Trauma Series, and is very involved in the Law Enforcement portion of our Active Shooter Response Training, TECC & TCCC classes.
Mark got started in public safety in 2006 when he was employed as a Public Safety Telecommunicator for Burlington County College. The fall of that same year he began his journey into prehospital health care with Pemberton First Aid & Rescue Squad, Station 199 in Pemberton Township, Burlington County. Mark would begin working full-time in Mercer County as an EMT. Mark would go on to gain experience as a 9-1-1 provider and also in NETS. Mark would remain with Pemberton First Aid & Rescue Squad until 2012 where he would go on to hold numerous leadership & management positions such as Continuous Quality Improvement, FTO, Lieutenant, Captain & Deputy Chief. Mark also was a member of the Browns Mills Emergency Squad, where after a year being with this agency, he would obtain the rank of Deputy Chief of EMS. As a certified EMT in both New Jersey & Pennsylvania, Mark currently works for Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health Network assigned to the 9-1-1 EMS Division, and also works for Western Monmouth EMS. Mark holds instructor status as a PA EMT Instructor, American Heart Association in BLS, American Safety & Health Institute in EMR, as well as other nationally accredited programs such as CEVO, EVOC, Defensive Driving and the NAEMT in PHTLS, GEMS, AHDR, EMS Safety, PTEP, EVOS, PEPP as well as TECC/TCCC. Instructor Lucio can be found teaching and coordinating our PA EMT Programs and also teaches the NAEMT programs, BLS continuing education courses and serves as an Assistant Instructor for NJ EMT refreshers.
James began his fire service career as a Probationary firefighter in 2009 with the Woodland Township Volunteer Fire Department. James is now a Volunteer Firefighter/EMT with Hainesport Township, in Burlington County New Jersey. James has served as a firefighter/EMT outside of New Jersey as well with Odenton Volunteer Fire Department, in Anne Arundel County Maryland. James has been a Certified NJ EMT since 2009 and has been a Certified Fire Fighter in New Jersey since 2012. James currently serves as one of the BLS Tour Chiefs with Capital Health System in Mercer County, NJ. James has been a 9-1-1 Dispatcher under all three disciplines (Police, Fire, and EMS). James is also employed with North Brunswick First Aid and Rescue Squad in Middlesex County, NJ. James is an EMT instructor and possesses certifications such as Firefighter 2, NJ EMT, NJ Fire Inspector, Incident Management Level III, NJ Level 2 Fire Instructor and Vehicle Extrication Technician to name a few. James is an NAEMT Instructor, PEPP Instructor, Stop the Bleed Instructor, and CPR instructor in our EMS Division. James is our logistics coordinator being in charge of all equipment, supplies, distribution and maintenance during classes and teaches many of our EMS and Fire Courses.
