A LEADER IN PUBLIC SAFETY EDUCATION
Debbie has been a staple in EMS Education in the State of NJ for decades now, previously working for Virtua Health as the EMT Program Coordinator for 30 years where she managed and conducted the Virtua M.O.R.E programs for 36 EMS units with medical oversight, review and education and was an instrumental part of establishing the first EMT Hybrid program. Debbie is a NJ EMT Instructor and has been for many years. She is also the former Education Manager at Exceptional Medical Transportation in Berlin, NJ where she oversaw quality assurance for both Non-Emergency Transport and 9-1-1 for the City of Atlantic City. She is currently an EMS Educator with both the Cherry Hill Fire Department & Gloucester County Emergency Medical Services. As a show of her determination and commitment towards EMS Education, Debbie was the recipient of the 2015 NJ Office of EMS Outstanding Educator of the Year, and a Honoree for developing new EMT curriculum at the NJ Office of EMS Conference. Debbie's role at Emergency Education & Development is assisting in the delivery of NJ EMT Refreshers and BLS programs, along with NAEMT programs.
William Cody Banks began his emergency services career in 2001 when he joined the Gloucester City Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter & EMT. Cody, as he is known, would go on to become a career firefighter/EMT with GCFD where he would serve for 7 years prior to being laid off due to budgetary concerns. Cody worked for many years with the Mount Laurel Township Emergency Medical Services as a Career EMT, and currently works at University of Medical and Dentistry (UMDNJ) Cooper Trauma Center, as a Trauma Technician with the highly-skilled Trauma Team. Cody previously served in the United States Army in the artillery division and then with the United States Navy Corman Division from 2008 to 2011, having served overseas providing care during that time. Cody is currently involved in the training of Special Combat Operations soldiers. Cody currently possesses his New Jersey Firefighter I and NREMT, as well as instructorships in numerous NAEMT programs. Cody teaches our ALS level courses, PHTLS, and NJ EMT Refreshers.
Samantha has 36 years of experience in Fire, EMS & Law Enforcement having began her emergency services career in 1986 with the Browns Mills Volunteer Fire Company and the Browns Mills Emergency Squad in Pemberton Township, Burlington County where she would become a Firefighter. In 1988, she would receive her Firefighter & EMT certifications when she transferred to Country Lakes Fire Company and Country Lakes Emergency Squad, also in Pemberton Township, Burlington County. Samantha would go on to enter Law Enforcement as a Corrections Officer in 2001 in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. Samantha would eventually move back to NJ, where she would be employed by the Burlington County Juvenile Detention Center in Pemberton, NJ. She would also again serve in Pemberton as a volunteer returning to the Browns Mills Emergency Squad as an EMT until its closing. She would then go on to volunteer at Springfield Township Emergency Squad and the Whiting First Aid Squad, as well. Samantha has since left the Corrections department, with a quick stop as a 9-1-1 Emergency Dispatcher for Burlington County 9-1-1 center, to now working for the Manchester Township Emergency Services as an EMT and a per diem 9-1-1 Dispatcher. Samantha is certified as a NJ Firefighter, NJ EMT, Hazmat Operations 9-1-1 Dispatcher and PTC. Sam holds instructor status with the American Heart Association in CPR and is an EMR Instructor with the American Safety & Health Institute. She is also a NAEMT Instructor in programs such as PHTLS, GEMS, PEPP, EVOC and of course TECC/TCCC with her law enforcement background. Sam also fills in as an EMT Instructor Assistant when needed.
Ashley comes to Emergency Education & Development as a very well versed, rounded educator; possessing an Associate's Degree in Fire Science Technology and over 15 years of Emergency Service experience. Ashley is currently employed by the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety as a State Fire Marshal assigned to the Code Enforcement Division and also works part-time for Mansfield Township Ambulance Corps in Burlington County. In addition to this, she is also a Level II State/Pro-Board Fire Instructor with the Burlington County Emergency Services Training Center. Prior to this, she has previously worked for the Burlington County Central Communication Center as a 9-1-1 Dispatcher, Trenton City EMS as an EMT, as well as other 9-1-1 EMS agencies. She had previously worked/volunteered for the Westampton Township Fire & EMS Department. Ashley brings many certifications such as NJ/NREMT EMT, Firefighter I, Fire Inspector, Fire/Arson Investigator, Haz-Mat Technician, BLS CPR Instructor, and NJ TIM Instructor. She is also a NJ EMT-Instructor Candidate. Ashley's role with Emergency Education & Development is an NAEMT Program Coordinator overseeing the operation of PHTLS, GEMS and PEPP
Bryan began his fire service career as a Junior firefighter in 2003 with the Washington Township Volunteer Fireman Association, now known as the Robbinsville Township Fire Department. Bryan would continue serving as a firefighter/EMT there; eventually achieving the rank of Lieutenant. Bryan would eventually be hired as a career ARFF firefighter/EMT with the Mercer County Airport where he currently serves as Captain. Bryan is also employed with the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety as a State Fire Marshal assigned to the Code Enforcement Bureau. Bryan is also a Fire Instructor with the Camden County Emergency Services Training Center where he teaches the NJ Firefighter I curriculum to firefighter candidates. Bryan possesses certifications such as Firefighter I, NJ EMT, NJ Fire Official, Incident Management Level III, Hazmat Specialist, Aircraft Rescue & Firefighting, Fire Officer I, NJ Level I Fire Instructor and Vehicle Extrication Technician to name a few. Bryan teaches the Aircraft Rescue Series, Incident Command, Vehicle Extrication, Hazmat and Fire Tactic courses at Emergency Education & Development.
Colleen is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Neuroscience at Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Health System. Colleen obtained her Bachelors in Nursing at the University of Scranton, and her Masters at La Salle University with a Major in Adult Gerontology/Clinical Nursing. Colleen is also a Clinical Instructor with Holy Family University and Gwynedd Mercy in the Nursing programs. Prior to accepting her position at Penn Medicine, Colleen was a Surgical Trauma ICU nurse for almost 10 years at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. Colleen's role at Emergency Education & Development is geared towards Trauma Education such as Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support and Advance Care Programs. Colleen also plays a large role in the Simulation Labs that are in the process of being developed and deployed soon.
Stacy is currently a full-time Captain for the West End Fire Company in Phoenixville, PA. Prior to that she was a Paramedic Supervisor for the Pocono Mountain Regional EMS in Tobyhanna, PA. Stacy brings to our team almost 15 years of experience in Fire & EMS ranging from certifications in Paramedicine, Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Fire Instructor I, Hazmat Operations, Technical Rescue Technician in numerous disciplines, Incident Management III, BLS, ACLS, and PALS instructor. Stacy is a Pennsylvania Emergency Medical Services Instructor at both the EMT and Paramedic levels. Stacy also has a background as a 9-1-1 Dispatcher with Warren County's 9-1-1 Communication Center. She is a graduate of Kean University with a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice with a Minor in Political Science. Stacy’s role at Emergency Education & Development, LLC is of an EMS Educator, both BLS & ALS, as well as assisting in our Leadership Development Division.
Courtney comes to us with over 8 years’ experience in Emergency Medical Services. Currently she works for Hackensack Meridian Health - JFK Emergency Medical Services as a Dispatcher/EMT. Prior to working for Hackensack Meridian Health - JFK Emergency Medical Services she worked for Alert Ambulance Service which merged into HMH-JFK EMS at the beginning of 2020. She is currently an active volunteer with the Jacobstown Volunteer Fire Company in North Hanover, NJ as an EMT/Probationary Firefighter. Prior to joining the Jacobstown Fire Company, she was a volunteer EMT in Manchester Twp, holding the position of 1st Sergeant and Lieutenant. Courtney is an EMT Instructor, and hold instructorships as an NAEMT Instructor, CEVO/EVOC Instructor, and CPR Instructor. Courtney teaches mainly EMT Refreshers, as well as Basic Life Support/CPR.
Michael comes to the team at Emergency Education & Development bringing experience in all three emergency disciplines; Police, Fire & EMS. Mike began his emergency services career as a volunteer firefighter in Southampton Township, Burlington County with the Hampton Lakes Volunteer Fire Company in 2009, graduating firefighter I and EMT in 2010. Mike was previously the Deputy Fire Chief in Tabernacle Township with the Tabernacle Fire Company #1 until its closing; before returning to his roots at Hampton Lakes where he is currently the Training Officer. Mike would eventually be hired and attend the Camden County Police Academy and currently works for a southern NJ city where he is assigned to a division that focuses on firearms resilience and protection. Mike holds numerous certifications such as Police Training Certification, National Proboard Firefighter I & II, Fire Officer I, NJ Incident Management Level III, Fire Instructor I, Vehicle Extrication Technician, Water Rescue Technician & Hazmat Technician. Mike is assigned to the Public Safety Division of EED specializing in Active Shooter Training and Tactical EMS Programs.
Sam is in advanced EMT with her Bachelor's in Exercise Science and Masters in Applied Sports Performance and Biomechanics from West Chester University. Sam pursued her EMT during covid to help with funding her masters, and has been hooked ever since. She is currently enrolled at Thomas Jefferson University for their Doctor of Health Science program, with the lifelong goal of becoming a professor in higher education. Sam is a crazy cat lady and an avid book reader.
Melissa comes to Emergency Education & Development with Bachelor in Behavioral Health Services from Thomas Jefferson University. With her Behavioral Health degree she is a member of multiple Critical Incident Stress Management teams within the greater Philadelphia area, Melissa works regularly to help prevent burnout and increase mental health awareness and treatment for her fellow first responders. Melissa been an EMT since 2010 after successfully graduating from Montgomery County EMS Training Institute, in Conshohocken, PA at the age of 17. With over more than a decade of EMS service, she has had various roles as a provider ranging from 9-1-1 services, NETS, SCTU serving in both rural and urban settings Melissa has provided private transport and special event medical services (such as construction sites, marathons, races, and other extreme obstacle courses). Melissa has been a Pennsylvania EMT Instructor in 2020. Melissa main involvement is teaching the EMT class as well as continuing education specially geared toward behavioral health topics.
